27.10.2021 Implementing rules for the tourism sector in the PNRR approved

The Council of Ministers has given the green light to the text. Among the 42 articles to shape the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, resources for hotel facilities for the recovery of tourism

The Council of Ministers approved a decree-law to implement the forecasts of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan related to the tourism sector.

The measures provided for in the decree, which take up some of the requests made by the trade associations during the parliamentary hearing on the PNRR and other hearings held during the pandemic, include interventions totalling EUR 2.4 billion.

Here are some details of the intervention:

- contributions and tax credit for the requalification of tourism enterprises (financed with an allocation of 500 million euros)
- creation of a special tourism section of Medio Credito Centrale (358 million euros) activation of a Cassa Depositi e Prestiti revolving fund for modernising structures, removing architectural barriers, environmental requalification (180 million euros):
- support for the digitalisation of travel agencies and tour operators (98 million euros)
- financing of the national tourism fund (150 million euro), managed with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, to strengthen structures and enhance real estate assets
- 500 million to activate a fund, with the participation of Met and Bei, called the "Resilience Italy Fund" for themodernisation of accommodation facilities, interventions for the mountains, development of new tourist routes;
- activation of the Digital Tourism hub (114 million), a digital platform to aggregate the national tourism offer online;
- Caput Mundi project - Next Generation EU (500 million), to support tourism and the offer in view of the Jubilee.
The contents of the measure, which has not yet been published in the Official Gazette, will be more detailed in subsequent official communications.
