TMCs can be defined as "travel agencies specializing in business travel management." Companies and organizations delegate business travel management to more or less structured Travel Management Companies.
While small and medium-sized TMCs affiliate with a Consortia, larger ones have their own programs.
Each year Travel Weekly selects the top TMCs globally, and on the steps of the podium often appear BCD, CWT and AMEX GBT.

BCD Travel

In third place is BCD Travel, which has maintained a customer retention rate of more than 97 percent in recent years. With BCD, your hotel will reach more than 9,500 consultants in more than 100 countries and 2 million customers worldwide.
In addition, photos you upload to your Lanyon profile will be directly displayed in BCD's Lanyon Hotel Directory further increasing visibility.

CWT

CWT is the second largest TMC in the world and the first in EMEA. In addition to specializing in business travel, it also handles meetings and events. Its program managers operate in 24 markets and it has more than 14,000 travel consultants.
CWT uses its own booking platform and mobile application that can be used to book and manage travel, not only by consultants, but also by the end consumer.

AMEX GBT

American Express GBT (Global Business Travel) occupies the top step of the podium. With the acquisition of HRG, DER, Kanoo and Ovation, it has further strengthened its position to hold 60 percent of the North American market share.
With AMEX GBT, your hotel is further highlighted through the acquisition of Ovation Travel, which ranked 14th on the Travel Weekly Power List in 2021, and the ability to showcase your rates to Middle Market customers as well.

VIRTUOUS

Virtuoso is also highly coveted and renowned, and in addition to business travel, it specializes in luxury and experiential travel.
Virtuoso works with the world's top hotels, tour operators and cruise lines and has more than 20,000 consultants.

NetToHotel is a Global Partner of Sabre, which has historic partnerships with some Consortia groups such as BCD Travel, Amex and Virtuoso.
Through special agreements, when hotels are distributed through Sabre they enjoy preferred status. This mainly means more visibility and more chances to be booked.
