The European Union and the Italian Government are offering calls for tenders, subsidies and incentives for the 4.0 digitalisation of hotels.
Did you also know that hoteliers can save up to 70% of their investments in technology and training thanks to grants?
After Decree 77/2021, the government intends to approve a second Recovery Decree with new simplifications and new implementation tools.
The contents of the new Legislative Decree should include measures that will meet some of the 6 targets that refer to the Ministry of Tourism.
The measures coming in the new DL all refer to investment 4.2(Mission 1 Digitisation, innovation, competitiveness and culture)
Integrated funds for the competitiveness of tourism enterprises and are:
- 80% tax credit for hotel companies, agritourisms, spas, bathing establishments, marinas, theme parks, trade fairs and congresses .
Expenditure on one or more measures aimed at increasing the energy efficiency of structures, earthquake-proof upgrading and removing architectural barriers will be eligible.
- a non-repayable grant of up to EUR 40,000 for tourism businesses.
This figure can be increased by a further 30,000 euros if at least 15% of the investment is earmarked for digitalisation and technological innovation of facilities; or by 20,000 euros in the case of female and young (under 35) entrepreneurs; or by 10,000 euros for businesses with their operational headquarters in a southern region.
- creation of a special section of the SME guarantee fund dedicated to businesses in the tourism sector. The plan is to support almost 24,000 investments with guarantees for 2.7 billion euros.
Of these, 40% will go to businesses in the South, 30% to new activities under 35 or to women's businesses.
- creation of a special section of the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti revolving fund to support businesses and development investments in tourism, which will guarantee 35% of eligible expenses and costs up to a limit of 40 million for both 2022 and 2023 and 50 million for each of the following years, with a 50% reserve for interventions to support energy requalification and digital innovation investments. The aim is to support 300 medium-sized companies by 31 December 2025.
